Today, at 11:30am station 64 and mutual aid were dispatched to a reported house fire in the 1400 block of Chestnut Hill Road. Chief 64, Battalion 64, Utility 64, and Engine 64-5 (crew of 4) made the response. Chief 64 arrived on the scene to find a single-story dwelling with smoke showing from the eaves and struck the working fire dispatch. Engine 64-5 arrived as the first due engine and stretched 2 hand-lines into the building. Once inside, crews found a vehicle on fire in the attached garage that extended into the home. Crews were able to knock down the bulk of the fire with minimal fire damage to the remainder of the home a few minutes after arriving on the scene. 64 units and mutual aid would remain on the scene for approximately 1.5 hours before returning available. |
