At 9:32pm Station 64 was dispatched to the area of Route 422 Westbound Mile Marker 173.2 for reports of a vehicle accident with fire. Chief 64, Deputy 64, Lieutenant 64, Traffic 64, & Rescue 64 (crew of 6) made the response at dispatch. Chief 64 arrived on the scene, confirming no fire with one patient heavily trapped in the vehicle. Rescue 64 arrived on the scene and began extricating the patient from the vehicle while Deputy 64 established command. Montco Squad & Engine 58 were in the area with similar reports and responded in to assist with extrication. Crews removed 2 doors and the roof of the vehicle to access the patient. Extrication was completed in approximately 17 minutes, and the patient was transported to the hospital by EMS. 64 units remained on the scene for approximately 1.5 hours before returning back to quarters.
